Our custom-made live edge slab tables are hand crafted to endure generations. We understand and respect wood movement and craft perfectly machined glue joints and our tables and tops will provide long-lasting value. These custom-made slab tables incorporate the natural "live edges" of the tree but we can provide the look you are seeking in the living edge whether it is nearly straight or more organic in shape. We use only premium kiln dried hardwood lumber; our domestic live edge slabs are taken from large rescued trees and then carefully dried in our Nyle Kiln to assure our unsurpassed quality and enduring value. All solid wood tops are equally finished, top and bottom in our durable, no water ring, easy care Milesi 2k Polyurethane finish.

Our live edge tables and tops are made from rescued Black Walnut and our kiln is continually filled with rescued slabs of that popular wood species. We insist on drying all live edge slabs ourselves to assure the long term durability and "generational" quality we are known for. Every table and top is made in the USA, right here in our East Dundee, Illinois woodshop.

For thicker tops such as our live edge and plank style rectangular and round tops, proper kiln drying is essential to assure that your investment represents value. No amount of technique or skill can assure that a table made from so called "air dried wood" will last longer than a year or two. All of our slabs are kiln dried in house to assure quality and every board used in our slab and wide plank top arrives properly kiln dried.
Whether you buy from us or elsewhere, ask the question; "do you always use kiln dried hardwood?" At Spiritcraft Furniture, the answer will always be an emphatic "absolutely".
Our legs and bases are made from solid wood, steel and stainless in custom sizes and profiles. All legs are stable and most feature levelers. In terms of wood legs, we only make designs that can be made with proper joints as our policy is to only provide items that will endure decades. No amount of money will convince us to offer any sub-par or poorly designed product as our reputation as an heirloom quality shop hangs in the balance.
